Top 6 movies of 2009

I’ve seen many of 2009 movies and these are my personal 6 favorites. Why six? Because I liked these the most. They left some deeper feelings, I laughed hard, simply: they totally took me “in”.

Do you have some favorites of your own? Share them in comments under the article.

1. Moon
Absolute winner for me. It is amazing, how one actor on screen + one being voice of the computer can make such breath taking experience. I was
waiting for every new second, never being sure what will happen. I hope Sam Rockwell gets Oscar for this role.

2. The Hangover
What should I write about this? All is written. Come on! You have seen it! “Craziest shit of 2009″.

3. The Maiden Heist
This little movie, which not many people heard of brings Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken & William H. Macy together into the roles of security
guards in gallery. Each one of them has their own personal love, or I should say obsession of one of exhibited paintings, or statues. When they
hear about the whole exhibit moving to Danmark, they must act fast. After finding out, that Danish is quite hard language to learn, it is decided
to… see this movie to find our more! It is worth it.

5. Up In The Air
Really great movie with George Clooney. He fly 230.000miles every year around whole US to help with “downsizing” in client companies. In other
words he fires people as a job.

4. Up!
Best animated movie of the year. Great and touching story, not just the traditional Disney stuff. I wasn’t much impressed after seeing the trailer, but when I saw the movie itself, it was a great surprise.

6. The Lovely Bones
All starts with murder of young girl, Susie Salmon. She gets into “the between” – she sees her family, her murderer and declines to go to the next level, until she gets her murderer to justice. It is hard, when nobody can see you. Visually beautiful and thrilling movie. Definitely worth watching.

Wolf Hunt in Sweden

For 2010, there is allowed to hunt wolves after 45 years.

27. 27 wolfs.

Over 12.000 rednecks got their licenses to kill those poor few animals. Well… few… 27 is believed to be 10% of wolf population in Sweden.

Quota was nearly filled in 2 days! Just imagine 12.500 hunters wanting to shoot wolf, because they didn’t do it before and it will be so cool to tell friends, how bravely they got that beast.

We did move to Sweden few years ago and and I personally believe, that many of these hunters are quite heavily inbred, as I can see them roaming the woods around. They shoot whatever moves, with argument “there is too many of them”. I guess this doesn’t apply for wolves. Maybe more for people I think sometimes.

I think this just shows their small brains, they are compensating their small penises with big gun (just quoting somebody from internet, whom I must agree with). I don’t believe, that even these people believe in stories about wolves stealing small kids, eating people and being bloodthirsty monsters in general. But few times I’ve heard, that wolf here and there was harassing some small kid, or ate somebody’s dog.
Well, that with dogs can be true of course, but:
One interesting count – wolves killed 30 dogs in 2008, comparing to 135 dogs killed by hunters in 2006 (data from the biggest animal insurance company in Sweden – Agria). Who is the pest than?

Maybe the hunters aren’t so bad, maybe they are really scared of wolves, after reading the only book they know, Little Red Hood, which was read to them by their mother.

After this, it will be very hard for Sweden to pretend, that ecology and taking good care of the nature is one of its top priorities. I hope that everybody who read/heard about this disgusting matter will remember this whenever he/she will come in some sort of contact with Sweden.

Don’t get me wrong: I am not against hunting in general – but I will never agree with hunting of endangered species, or animals which can’t be used as food after taking them down.

UPDATE: As expected, before the murdered wolves were counted, hunt was still going on, so it will be double, or even bigger number of killed wolves. Unfortunately, there is no reported hunter-hunter shot.
