Well, today I found out that my 6230i is slowly saying goodbye. One month ago, it started to refuse to accept random keys on the keyboard. It started to work again approximately after two weeks of painful half-death. Today, it started to refuse charging, that’s even more serious than not being able to dial certain numbers ….
So here is a little recapitulation of my mobile history:
| 1998 – Siemens c10 |
| My first mobile. I bought it for 3.500CZK from schoolmate, who bought it the day before for the full price and his father told him, that it will be him (schoolmate) or the phone, who will leave the house… It was stolen, or I maybe lost it, it’s hard to say, I was celebrating big winning of Czech national hockey team on the main square in Prague and I started to kind of miss the phone in the morning…. It was great night in the tow |
 |
| 2000 – Ericsson A1080 ?? |
| I found 5000CZK two weeks after loosing my C10, it was just lying on the ground! On the way from pub. I bought phone for 3000 in second hand, SIM card of newly started carrier Oskar (Vodafone) for 400 and had 1600 left to celebrate it! Tis phone had text menu, single line (or maybe two) and was huuuge. It was ripping my pocket. |
| 2000 – Siemens c35i |
After approximately two month living with unbelievably big and heavy (and quite hard-to-manage) Ericsson phone, I sold it to my mom and bought C35i, great little phone, even containing stupid 3D game (walking in maze). It was working fine until I’ve decided to change the cover. It was not a standard operation on this phone. When I took the original one off, many things fell off I managed to put it back together and have it one more year. |
 |
| 2002 – Sony J6 |
| I think that was my most beautiful phone. This gem had 4grades of gray, great ringtones, 3D menu and was able to record 30sec of sound!!! Display had 90something pixels in both directions, simply it was a charmer. It had jog-dial button for quick scrolling in menu. |
 |
| 2004 – Sony Ericsson T68i |
Keys on J6 started to fade away, so I bought this one in the second hand. Great little phone with 256(!!!) color display, bluetooth and INFRA PORT!!!!! I used it a lot with unlimited GPRS-data account to bring internet in my Acer N10 handheld. It was a great time, sitting with phone on one knee and handheld on second one, trying to have uninterrupted IrDa connection.
Died by falling into tea with sugar (I did it just once, that day!!! I mean sugar in tea.) |
 |
| 2005 – Sony Ericsson T610 |
| I had this for a day or two. It was from second hand and infra port didn’t work, so I came back and changed it for T630. |
 |
| 2005 – Sony Ericsson T630 |
Second Hand, 65535 colors, big display, bluetooth, Irda, etc. Great phone, my first phone with camera (photos of post-stamp size:)
Tragically died after 3months by falling into the toilet on a party. I managed to stop flushing when I saw it on the bottom of the toilet. I use it until now for recieving i-bank confirmation codes. Works, but has to be turned on twice to connect (??). |
 |
| 2005 – 2008 Nokia 6230i |
| What to do, without phone and money to buy new one! I got this baby for 1CZK from my carrier. I hated idea of having Nokia, but what could I do? Besides, it has great features, even 1.3Mpix camera. This mobile went with me through a lot, even 3 arctic winters here in Sweden. I was with it in water in November beside other things! I simply broke through ice, when it was -13C… Last month, some keys stopped working, than other keys. After it started to work again, the charging block in phone stopped working for good. Now I hav I think two days of charged battery and than….. ? |
 |
This was just a little list to remind mainly myself about my mobile history. Now I should think of some way of buying new phone. I had one in my sight, but I need approx $134 to get new phone, Sony Ericsson this time.
I have a great idea:
If you click on
and donate me $5 to get it, I will thank you personally from my new phone by SMS (if I get it offcourse You have to enter your number including country code when donating if you want to get the “Thank you SMS”. I know, it is a lousy deal, but I am really desperate…
